1. "Saza ek hein ko kyon?" / Whose responsibility is it? - Developed during the MacArthur FLD Fellowship Project
    | The Pop story book talks about male responsibility. The visual imagery used here is similar to the pictures rural people draw and relate to. The story begins with Kamala meeting Mohan. A friendship develops which leads into an unexpected and unwanted pregnancy. When faced with this situation, Kamala consults her friends. Kamala's friends take her to a local woman who prepares a decoction to terminate the pregnancy. After a few days Kamala turns violently ill and bleeds excessively. She passes away. The absent Mohan, was in the next village, marrying another girl. |
2. Our Stories-"Women speak out against HIV" - Client: Population Council, Delhi "Our Stories" is an interactive training manual meant for use by non government and government organizations working directly with women in rural India. A follow-up take away booklet meant for each women is also part of the package. These tools have been specially designed for communicating HIV facts to rural low literate and non literate women. The four stories illustrated here are real life incidents narrated by women in Andhra and West Bengal. Names have been changed to preserve the identity of the women.
